It's widely known that testosterone (T-hormone) plays an important role in defining what makes you a man. It is worth noting that men possess 100 times more T-hormone than women do. However, what purpose does it serve?

Nature of Testosterone

One fascinating fact about testosterone is its cyclic nature. It peaks during the night and early morning, explaining the phenomenon often referred to as 'morning wood'.

During sleep, your body recovers, and your testicles produce more T-hormone. Its level is at its highest in the morning, then slowly decreases around midday. However, these levels vary from person to person.

Each man has a unique steady state of T-hormone, which ranges between 300 and 900. Young men in their 20s and 30s usually fluctuate around 700, while others might hover around 500. But know that this isn't a static number; it's a point-in-time measurement.

Testosterone testing is best done in the blood rather than saliva or urine. If a man is under 50, it's optimal to measure T-hormone levels before 11am.
